Hello there! My name is Makenna Grace Copley, and I am a student at the University of Victoria enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce program! I grew up in a smaller town in central Vancouver Island, BC called Nanoose Bay where I lived with my parents, two rambunctious brothers (I’m a middle child!), and my two dogs. During this time, I played almost every sport you could think of, but I always had the most passion for ice hockey and continued playing for years. Other passions of mine include hiking, off-roading, traveling, running, and almost anything to do with the outdoors, especially oceans, rivers, lakes, etc. In other words, you will catch me watching the sunset in front of some sort of body of water or on top of a mountain every night.
Moving forward in a more academic/professional sense, I have lots of goals set in place. I am currently studying business and am hoping to find my niche in the marketing field. Digital marketing is something that greatly interests me, hence, why I am also interested in this course (EDCI 338). Social media and the digital field are constantly growing, and I would like to grow with it. Hopefully, I can also gain the skills to thrive in the real estate world. I am excited to see what the rest of my academic and professional journey holds!
